Personal Finance

  • CBB -- a Check Book Balancer for Unix/X
  • Xfinans -- Another personal account manager. This one has come a long ways since I last looked at it -- definitely worth checking out.
  • Xacc -- Written in {Mo/Less}tif and C with the XBae table widget. Still new in the development cycle, but could be interesting.
  • Money Dance A promising looking "Quicken" style money manager written in Java of all things.
  • WaterMark WaterMark is a fresh start on a personal finances application for X. They are attempting to deploy WaterMark on the KDE and GNOME environments in parallel, but central development will be Gtk based without regard for desktop environment.

  • Xinvest -- A neat investment tracking app. At last check, they were at version 2.2. Note, this app requires Motif. Someplace on sunsite.unc.edu I found a precompiled binary for Linux. The following link will work until the next version comes out -- xinvest-2.2.README

  • Christopher B. Browne has a rather extensive listing of financial software including personal finance, accounting, databases, and spreadsheets.
